Jeff Hardy pleads guilty to drug charges and will serve jail time

Moore County, North Carolina - TNA Wrestling star Jeff Hardy pleaded guilty to three felony drug charges yesterday in a Moore County court room stemming from an arrest at his home in 2009. The former WWE Champion will serve ten days in jail, pay 100,000$ fine, and serve a thirty month probation where he could face even more punishing if he violates the terms of his parole.

Hardy who has batled substance abuse in past while wrestling for WWE and TNA, plead guilty to two counts of "intent to distribute a controlled substance" and one count of "conspiracy to traffic in a compound containing opium." This is likely the end result of a plea deal made by Hardy's legal team who have received numerous extensions on this sentencing for the past year.

In a press release from last year by the Moore County Sheriff's Office, it states officers found  a 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia when doing a search of Hardy's home. The specific charges  currently against Hardy include conspiracy to traffic in Opium, trafficking in Opium by possession, two counts of possession with Intent to Distribute, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a controlled substance in a vehicle/dwelling/place and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Spike TV's TNA Impact Wrestling this week, Hardy returned to the company after ruining a pay per view main event earlier this year where he appeared under the influence of narcotics. You can watch Jeff Hardy's return to TNA in the video posted on the left. The TNA World Championship match with Sting was quickly rushed to a finish in under ninety seconds. It is widely considered the saddest moment in TNA Wrestling.
