Yes, you read that right. According to recent reports out of Hollywood, Independence Day 2 is in the works, slated for a release on July 1, 2016. So far out of the jumble of information taken from Jeff Goldblum's interview with HuffPo, Independence Day 2 has no current script, and no one knows what's in store for us. What we do know is, it's happening. Yes, it's actually happening.

"They've talked to me about it, and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see – I haven't read anything. I think they're trying to put it together." said Goldblum in an interview with HuffPo

One of the problems with the sequel, other than not having a script yet, is the recent news that Will Smith will not be reprising his role as Captain Steven Hiller, but Bill Pullman will be coming back as President Thomas J Whitmore, and as previously mentioned, we'll still always have Goldblum.

As for the film tentatively referred to as Jurassic World, Goldblum was not offered a returning role in the film, but always in good spirits, he's stated that he was perfectly satisfied with the two films that he did (Jurassic Park, and The Lost World) and that he'll be first in line to see a new take on it.

What do you think of the possible sequel? Join the discussion below, and let us know how you think they'll turn out.
