Sunday, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush caught a mainstream NBC reporter off guard by comparing him and other political reporters to “crack heads.”
Bush was being interviewed by NBC’s David Gregory about his new book “Immigration Wars” when the reporter asked him whether he or Marco Rubio was the “hottest Florida politician right now.
The two-term former governor has repeatedly told the media that he is not running for any political office, however reporters often can’t help themselves and spring the question over and over again.
This query, coming at the end of the interview, included Gregory’s asking Bush who would be in the White House around this time in 2016, a question to which even the most astute political observers do not know the answer.
"Man, you guys are crack addicts. You really are obsessed with all this politics," Bush replied.
The "Meet the Press" host, who is married to a former Fannie Mae executive, was somewhat taken aback by the exchange, saying he'd been called a lot of things but never a crack addict.
Gregory is believed by many to be a liberal and most commentators say he is much harder on Republicans than Democrats and is certainly no friend of the Bush family when it comes to politics.
