Biagi-DenBeste Racing announced on Tuesday that NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Jeb Burton will drive the team's No. 98 Ford entry in the History 300 Nationwide Series race on May 24 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. It'll be Burton's second-career start in Nationwide Series competition.
"I'm thankful to Fred (Biagi), Bill (DenBeste), Lori (DenBeste) and everybody for the opportunity to come drive the No. 98 car," Burton said. "I think the racing in the Nationwide Series is really good right now, and I'm excited to be a part of it. I'm also looking forward to working with Kendall-Jackson, bringing a new sponsor into the sport and having a good run for them."
Burton has recently been driving the No. 13 Toyota for ThorSport Racing in the Camping World Truck Series. Early on in the season, the deal with ThorSport was a race-to-race deal, but that organization announced recently that Burton would be in the No. 13 truck for the remainder of the 2014 season. He previously drove for Turner Scott Motorsports in the Truck Series, but lost his ride with that team prior to the start of the 2014 season because of a sponsorship issue. He has one-career Truck Series win to his credit, coming in 2013 at Texas Motor Speedway. His one Nationwide Series start, to date, came at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta in 2013. He finished eighth.
"We're thrilled to have both Jeb Burton and Kendall-Jackson AVANT with us for the first time," team co-owner Fred Biagi said. "Jeb has impressed at every level he's raced, and we're excited to put that talent behind the wheel of our Ford Mustang."
