This Saturday, October 5th, Jeanie Madsen Gallery presents "Say What?" The three-person show will feature artists Dillon, Johnny Romeo and Jennifer Verge.
"Say What?" offers three different perspectives,” cites Madsen. “Each saying something different…through their art and POP Street and Urban art.” Although the work of each artist will be slated for a distinct room in the gallery, Madsen insists she strives to put artists together whose art blends.
This will be the first time Madsen will be showing the art of street artist Dillon. She has worked with the other two artists prior to this show. Dillon is looking forward to working with Jeanie.
A driven artist, Dillon has been creating art since he was young however he was first inspired to create art on a public level after returning from Europe and being exposed to so much public street art in London, Zurich and Paris.
He has a busy lifestyle, creating the art, getting it out there and always searching for new places to show his work, whether a abandoned building or gallery show. He stated the relationships in his life contribute to his art and creativity....as he puts it “they create an environment where I get to meet tons of new people and the kind of people who are not so closed off. Thinkers, risk takers, people who know what the purpose of life is, to create and make something beautiful.”
Jennifer Verge has been creating art for seven years and refers to her current style of work as Urban Pop/Street. Verge has been working in this particular style for the past three years. When asked what inspires her, she replies... "Freedom, Adventure, Passion, Celebration, Courage, Dreams, Romance and Love…The risk takers!!!" She admits that it changes everyday..."You have to find new experiences that drives you out side of your comfort zone. You need to create excitement for yourself and hopefully that transfers into your Life/Art."
The opening reception will take place on Saturday, October 5th from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm at the Jeanie Madsen Galley (1431 Ocean Ave., SM, 90401) 310 393-7436. The show will run through October 31st.
