French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier presented his Spring/Summer 2013 Haute-Couture collection in a fashion show for Paris Fashion Week on January 23, 2013 in Paris, France.
As expected, the Jean-Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2013 Haute-Couture fashion show wasn’t without a bit of drama and novelty either – a model came out with an arch-shamed shirt with little neon-clad girls played underneath as though in an igloo!
Those little tikes were apparently presenting Jean-Paul Gaultier haute couture for little girls…
The Jean-Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2013 Haute-Couture collection is all about layering on and adding texture to an ensemble, including the flamenco style tiered patchwork skirt ensemble, which is teamed with a ruffle sleeved blouse.
Similarly, a pinafore effect is achieved with a shimmery white over-garment topping a black chiffon gown. Several long red bead garlands add more layering and interest.
Jean-Paul Gaultier offers a lot of glitz and glam in this Spring/Summer couture collection as well as evidenced by his chic pewter trench coat with a fish scale finish. And then there is that lovely silver metallic maxi skirt, teamed with a glitzy black top, casually tied at the waist.
In true Jean-Paul Gaultier tradition, there are some daring, barely-there pieces, including his off-the-shoulder gossamer-thin black gown with a crosshatch and tulle skirt. More garland strands and drop earrings complete the look…
There is also an intriguing pink, beige and cream V-necked gown with matching jacket which reminds one of strawberry ripple ice cream.
Another cream ensemble was quite Madonna-esque – as in Madonna Ciccone – complete with pointed bustier!
One of the most stunning pieces in this collection is a lemongrass yellow and burgundy striped crepe de chine gown.
Jean-Paul Gaultier has managed to roll out a most appeasing Spring/Summer 2013 Haute-Couture collection – enjoy the slideshow!
