Jealous NYC husband stabs wife to death, and then his two baby daughters

Prosecutors in New York City said that Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 29, became enraged after seeing pictures of his 21-year-old wife Deisy Garcia with another man on her Facebook page and on her cell phone – so enraged that he stabbed his wife to death – and then murdered his two baby daughters, Daniela, 2, and Yoselin, 1.

'New York City prosecutors say a 29-year-old man hugged and kissed his two young daughters before stabbing them to death and killing their mother.'

On Jan 22, Fox News reported that, just today, Mejia-Ramos waived extradition and agreed to return to NYC after being captured this week by police in La Grange, Texas, where authorities were able to track him down after he powered up his cell phone.

Mejia-Ramos was taken into custody early yesterday when deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office surrounded his vehicle on I-10 near Schulenburg, Texas – after tracking him down through his cell phone.

Richard Brown, the Queens District Attorney, said that Mejia-Ramos should be in a New York City courtroom on Friday, where he’ll be facing first-degree murder charges, according to CBS News.

According to authorities, Mejia-Ramos told detectives he had been out drinking Saturday night, returned home, went through his wife’s Facebook account, saw a photo of her with another man and then snapped.

Police in N.Y. also said that they’d been called to Mejia-Ramos’ home twice in 2013 for domestic harassment complaints. In both instances though, there were no visible signs of physical abuse; and no arrests were made.

The bodies of Deisy Garcia and her two children, Daniela and Yoselin, were discovered Sunday night by other family members in the bedroom of the Jamaica, Queens apartment they all shared with husband and father Miguel Mejia-Ramos. Police say that Mejia-Ramos’ wife and daughters had all been stabbed in their chests, multiple times.

Upon visiting the crime scene, the Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said:

“I’ve seen a lot in my 23 years as the district attorney, but there’s nothing that quite compares to that.”

“What disturbs me more is seeing young children — in this case, babies — as homicide victims.”
