Last year, JCPenney disappointed a lot of shoppers on the biggest shopping day of the year as they got rid of their holiday snow globes. Brads Deals announced on Oct. 13, 2013, that for Black Friday 2013, the huge retailer is going to be bringing them back.
JCPenney had handed out the Disney themed snow globes since 2000, and they became huge collector's items. Fans loved to collect and trade and even sell them or give them away as gifts.
In 2012, JCPenney shifted gears and gave out buttons that offered up different discounts and some gave away grand prizes such as vacations. While some customers liked the buttons; a lot more were upset that the snow globed were gone.
While the buttons were popular, it was evident that JCPenney needed to bring the Disney snow globes back for Black Friday 2013.
On Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, JCPenney knew that Black Friday was still a number of weeks off, but they wanted to get back in their customers' good graces. Still, the button-lovers from last year are now upset because they were mostly the non-collectors searching for great discounts.
JCPenney can't seem to please everyone, but they certainly made collectors very happy.
