On March 16th and 17th, Jazz in the Gardens will descend on the Miami area for the 8th year. The event has grown into one of the most highly regarded festivals in the country (last year's Jazz in the Gardens saw 48,000 tickets sold), and this year's line-up is shaping up to be one of the most impressive yet, with Ne-Yo, Earth Wind and Fire, Charlie Wilson, New Edition, Monica, Fantasia and Babyface all slated to perform.
Presented by the city of Miami Gardens, which incorporated in 2003 and recently played host to Super Bowl XLIV (TM), Jazz in the Gardens has been attracting locals and thousands of out-of-towners to the area since 2006.
In addition to the world-class music, festival-goers indulge in a wide variety of diverse foods and merchandise. The Food Village at Jazz in the Gardens has proved to be almost as much of an attraction as the stage itself. Vendors serve everything from conch salad to bbq to seafood salad to smoothies, and many have been a presence at the festival since its inception.
With growing numbers of travelers making their way to Jazz in the Gardens each year, it's no wonder local hotels are getting in the act with special package offers centered around the event. Two of note are:
