The New Orleans Jazz Fest announced their 2014 lineup today, and attendees of the festival are struggling to make a decision. Unlike other large music festivals such as Coachella or Austin City Limits, Jazz Fest has a different lineup over its two-weekend span.
Headliners include legends like Eric Clapton, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Phish, and The String Cheese Incident alongside big-name acts like Christina Aguilera, Solange, Trey Songz, Arcade Fire, and Vampire Weekend.
They’ll join hundreds of Louisiana artists including Trombone Shorty, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Galactic, Big Freedia, Rebirth Brass Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Kermit Ruffins, and dozens of other great local acts.
So attendance to the festival depends entirely on who you want to see. Are you more of a Weekend 1 type of person, eager to see Public Enemy, Phish, and Eric Clapton? Or maybe you’ll wait for Weekend 2 and catch performances by String Cheese Incident, Alabama Shakes, Bruce Springsteen, and Arcade Fire
This year marks the 45th anniversary of Jazz Fest, located at the Fair Grounds Race Course. Single day tickets are available for purchase online for $50, but prices will increase to $55 after January 31.
