Jazz Bakery kicks off 20th anniversary season

The series started back in 1992 with jazz vocalist/educator Ruth Price and has achieved international acclaim. The Jazz Bakery will present a "Movable Feast" of shows across L.A. County starting January 19, at 8pm at the Kirk Douglas Theatre with the Freddy Cole Quartet. The address is 9820 Washington Boulevard in Culver City. On Friday, February 8 at 8pm, 3 Brave Souls featuring Darryl Jones, Ndugu Chancler and John Beasley also perform at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

On Valentines Day it will be A Gershwin Valentine from Susie Raney, Michael Dees, Kurt Reichenbach and Pinky Winters with an 8pm show at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. The next night, February 15 at 8pm, the Turtle Island Quartet with Tierney Sutton headline the Herbert Zipper Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. The address is 200 South Grand Avenue. On Saturday, February 16, the Dori Caymmi Quintet will have a CD release at 8pm. The CD is titled "Poesia Musicada" also at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

On Friday, February 22, at 8pm, the Kurt Rosenwinkel Quartet headline a show at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Also at the Kirk Douglas Theatre on Sunday, February 24, at 8pm, the Kenny Garrett Quintet will perform. The series continues on Thursday, February 28, at 8pm with the Chris Potter Quartet at the Musicians Institute Concert Center. The address is 1655 North McCadden Place in Hollywood. The concluding show will feature the Patricia Barber Quartet, Saturday, March 2, at 8pm, also at the Musicians Institute Concert Center.
