Jazz at Fioli has announced its summer 2014 season. Tickets go on sale for members May 12 and the general public beginning May 27. The long-established series at the Woodside attraction offers Bay Area jazz fans a truly unique cultural experience.
Enjoy a lovely afternoon of music and fun in Filoli’s beautiful outdoor setting. Concerts start at 1:30 and end at 4 p.m. Filoli opens at 11:00 a.m. and we invite you to come to tour the House and Garden and visit the Café, and Garden and Gift Shop prior to your concert. Gracious volunteers serve complimentary snacks including white wine, beer and sparkling water. Buy your tickets early for best seating and before concerts sell out.
This season is dedicated to the memory of Bud Spangler, who passed away January 16. He and Chuck Huggins created Jazz at Filoli in 1991, and Bud produced the series through 2007. Jazz at Filoli audiences loved his enthusiasm, humor and deep appreciation of the music. He wore many hats – concert and record producer, radio personality and drummer. Bud was an inspiration, respected by all who knew him. A memorial will be held April 19 at Yoshi’s in Oakland.
