Every day in New Orleans is like a music festival almost anywhere else, so when they hold a music festival it has to be over the top. This year's Voodoo Music and Arts Experience promises to be top notch with rock classics like Pearl Jam and Jazz greats like The Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
The festival starts on the morning of Friday November 1, 2013 and continues all weekend until the last note plays Sunday afternoon. Don't worry though as that just means the bands will move on to the local night spots for another set or two while you and your friends gather to enjoy some of New Orleans best culture on a plate and wash it down with your favorite beverage.
That doesn't mean you will be forced to starve and go bone dry during the festival as they will have more than enough food vendors to satisfy your taste for culture while you listen to Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Kid Rock, Delta Rae and scores of other awesome bands.
While you are at the festival, don't forget that it is more than a food and music festival. It is also an arts experience and City Park will be filled with interactive artwork from around the nation, across the globe, and even some from New Orleans.
There will also be carnival rides and festive costumes for kids of all ages.
So after you give out the last Sweet tarts and Gobstoppers this Halloween, lock up and set your GPS for City Park in New Orleans.
