The top prosecutor in the Jaycee Lee Dugard case said that Jaycee is likely to testify against her alleged kidnappers in the trial, and begged the public to leave Jaycee and her family alone until the trial, which won’t begin for 1-2 years.
The District Attorney stated, "The family has been doing exceptionally well under the circumstances ... (but) as Abraham Lincoln said, let us all rise to the better angels of our nature and leave this family alone during the time of their reunification," Vern Pierson said. He stated that the international media swarm has been tough on the family, since Jaycee Dugard was rescued last month, reported The San Francisco Chronicle.
Jaycee Dugard worked for Phillip Garrido’s printing company, and her photo was put on their business cards and printing materials. A business associate of Phillip Garrido, Cheyvonne Molino said that Jaycee Dugard aspired to be a model, and mentioned the cards with Jaycee’s photo. A related case, Elizabeth Smart in Salt Lake City, Utah was held by her capturers for about one year, and found alive in 2003. That case has yet to be tried because the alleged kidnapper is mentally incompetent and refuses to take medication.

Two comments on your choice to link to a photo that is alleged to be a current image of Jaycee Dugard. First, I know first hand that it is not her. Second, if it were in fact her, why would a legitimate new outlet publicize an image of a victim of a sex crime against her will? I fail to see the argument that would justify such an action.
