Jaycee Dugard and her mother plan to write books about their experiences

Jaycee Dugard is writing a book and plans to use the proceeds to go back to school along with Starlit and Angel, the two daughters she has by Phillip Garrido.  A friend of the Dugard family told the The Times Online that Jaycee and her daughters plan to change their names, get a tutor to get caught up and then go to a private school.

There are two book deals with Random House in the works, the Times Online reported Sunday.  Jaycee Dugard's mother, Terry Probyn who is now 50, plans to write a book about the "missing years" she spent looking for Jaycee, the searches she organized and how she never gave up hope.  Jaycee will write an introduction for her mother's book.

Random House would like Jaycee to write her own book about her 18-year kidnapping ordeal with Nancy and Phillip Garrido; a book that would easily be worth millions, based on the media attention in this case. 

Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped in 1991, held captive for 18 years, and had two daughters with her kidnapper. Phillip and Nancy Garrido are being held in the El Dorado County Jail, and an October 29 date is set for a preliminary hearing. Most likely the trial will not begin for two years.

In a related case, Elizabeth Smart from Utah was held captive for nine months before being discovered on the streets of Salt Lake City.  Elizabeth Smart recently testified against her kidnapper in his comptency hearing that he raped her three to four times a day during her captivity.  To read Elizabeth's testimony, click here.
