The reunion that took place between Jaycee Dugard and daughters, Starlet and Angel, with other family members has been revealed in an article by the OC Register.  Speaking with Jaycee Dugard’s aunt, Tina Dugard (Terry Probyn’s sister) the public gets its first real inside look at the homecoming. Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped by convicted felon and rapist, as well as registered sex offender Phillip Garrido in 1991. Phillip Garrido confessed to the kidnapping at the time of his arrest on August 26, 2009. During Jaycee’s 18 years of captivity she gave birth to two daughters, Starlet and Angel. Tina Dugard reveals information that Jaycee Dugard had homeschooled Starlet and Angel and had been in charge of the children’s education.

Tina Dugard describes Jaycee’s mother spending time brushing and braiding her daughter’s long, blonde hair. Little moments such as brushing your daughter’s hair are often ignored by mothers across the country, but for Terry Probyn, it was the fulfillment of a dream that had been a living nightmare for 18 years. Tina was there to witness these moments, she spent five days with her sister, niece, and great-nieces during the homecoming reunion. Tina Dugard described Jaycee Dugard and her daughters as happy and optimistic. She also stated that the Jaycee Dugard’s daughters aren’t allowed to follow the media coverage regarding their father, Phillip Garrido. When asked if the girls always believed that Jaycee was their older sister she stated that they know that Jaycee is their mother.

It has been widely known in the past week that Jaycee and her daughters, Starlet 15 and Angel 11 have never attended school. Tina Dugard stated that the girls were well educated, that Jaycee taught them both how to read and write. It has also been publicized that Jaycee Dugard had been the driving force in Phillip Garrido’s printing business and she had access to the Internet and computers. Tina Dugard confirmed that both of Jaycee’s daughters were bright and had used the Internet.
