The fight between Jay Z and Solange Knowles on an elevator inside the Standard Hotel in New York City during a Met Gala after party was initially released on May 12 in a 58-second long soundless surveillance video. However, TMZ.com has now released a longer, 3-minute and 31-second long version of the security video that shows a fuller version of the melee.
The 58-second long video was originally released by TMZ.com, and appears to show Solange attacking her 44-year-old brother-in-law Jay Z, famous husband of Beyonce, in an elevator at the Met Gala during an after-party on May 5 while the superstar singer stands back, away from the melee.
In the new, longer version of the video from TMZ.com, 27-year-old Solange can be seen lunging and kicking and hitting Jay Z several times as Beyonce stands in between the dueling duo at various times during the video. With no audio to accompany the popular video, it is left for the viewing public to try and read lips and body language to try and figure out what’s going on as Beyonce can be seen speaking to her sister Solange at certain points during the video, and alternately appearing to remain stoic and silent.
TMZ also posted a video of the 44-year-old Jay Z as he left the event, where he can be shown getting into a different limo than Beyonce and her sister. While none of the three at the center of this storm have officially commented, people are reading into an entry on Beyonce’s Instagram account that was posted two days after the altercation.
“My Prayer to God,” it reads. “Lord, I lift up every one of my relationships to You and ask You to bless them. I pray that each one would be glorifying to You. Help me to choose my friends wisely so I won’t be led astray. Give me discernment and strength to separate myself from anyone who is not a good influence. I release all my relationships to You and pray that Your will be done in each one of them.”
