Jay-Z Signs New York Yankees Pitcher CC Sabathia To Roc Nation Athlete Managment

Roc Nation Sports and Jay-Z continue to build their roster of athletes. The Jay-Z led sports agency has just inked a deal with New York Yankees star pitcher C.C. Sabathia.

C.C. Sabathia is a six-time all-star who has been with the Yankees since 2009, winning a World Series and ALCS MVP that same year. Sabathia joins the stellar lineup over at Roc Nation Sports that includes Kevin Durant, Victor Cruz, Geno Smith, Skylar Diggins, and former Yankee second baseman Robinson Cano.

Late last year, Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports helped Cano get a 10-year $240 million deal from the Mariners. So apparently Hov knows what he's doing. However, no details regarding this contract have been revealed yet.

A big fan of the Brooklyn rapper, Sabathia has supported Jay Z since arriving to the Yankees. He’s been spotted many times at concerts, Jay Z’s charity events, and courtside at Brooklyn Nets games. It was just a matter of time before it was official.

The deal is meant to have Roc Nation represent Sabathia on and off the field, according to ESPN.

“CC exemplifies everything Roc Nation looks for in an athlete and a partner,” Roc Nation Sports president Juan Perez said about the deal in a statement to the ESPN network.

Roc Nation’s verified Twitter account posted a photograph of Sabathia signing a contract next to Roc Nation’s leader Jay Z.

Congrats to C.C. and Roc Nation Sports.
