Are you serious? Parents have a difficult time finding an available babysitter, let alone a babysitter at a reasonable price if they wanted a night out. However, Jay and Bey wants to make sure that baby Blue Ivy enjoys the comforts of extravagance at the age of almost 1 year old. Key phrase: almost 1 year old.
I shouldn’t be surprised. While Jay’s rags to riches story and Bey’s empowerment for women are prominent in their music, it only make sense that they would want the best that life could offer for their daughter. But $1 million a year? For a nursery? Filled with expensive toys?
When I was Blue Ivy’s age, I remember.......ummm.....NOTHING! It wasn’t until later in my life when my parents told me that I cried a lot...slept...cried some more...ate...vomited...slept some more...had my diaper changed as I cried or slept, and that was it. Sounds like a typical baby, right? However; being a parent myself, I couldn’t sit here and honestly say what I wouldn’t do if I had the same financial opportunities as Jay-Z and Beyonce. So my judgement is out the window.
Jay-Z and Beyonce are regulars at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York. This is where the Brooklyn native brought in the New Year and when he and Beyonce want to watch the Brooklyn Nets basketball game, their daughter, Blue Ivy, isn’t far away. This may be the reason they shelled out $1 million a year to rent a luxurious basement suite as a nursery for Blue Ivy.
Don’t get it twisted, with its elegance and style, the suite, also known as “the Vault”, has a champagne bar and is also used to entertain some of his friends. It’s a win win situation for Jay-Z and Beyonce. Not only does Blue Ivy have a spacious suite full of toys that she can’t possibly understand how to use, the deal includes 1st class tickets to all the games. But, with Jay-Z as one of the owners of the Brooklyn Nets, this may not even matter.
Oh yeah, Blue Ivy Carter’s birthday is on Monday, January 7, 2013. She turns 1. Maybe she’ll enjoy the suite, the toys and the $1 mil more than she did on January 6, 2013.
