Jay Mendez goes from wheelchair to the ring with the help of Mitch Ross

“The sports world, especially extreme sports is highly competitive and physically demanding,” Mitch Ross said.

Athletes are always searching for an alternative to steroids, especially if they have sustained an injury. Performance enhancement has developed a stigma over the past few years, as people erroneously associate these supplements with steroids.

There are a number or performance-enhancing technologies and natural supplements that do not have any negative long-term effects on the body. Deer Antler Spray is one supplement that has been proven to help people, as they recover from certain injuries and illnesses.

Jay Mendez is an athlete who has benefited from the use of steroid alternatives.

In September 2011, North Texas up-and-coming MMA fighter Jay Mendez sat at a record of 2 and 1. He was excited for his next visit to the cage. With a promising MMA career ahead of him, the last thing he was expecting was a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.

MMA, Mixed Martial Arts, is a highly demanding physical, full contact sport that allows both striking and grappling techniques, on the ground and standing. It’s a combination of a variety of mixed martial art disciplines including Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling, wrestling, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, and a variety of other less common disciplines.

Multiple sclerosis, commonly referred to as MS, is an inflammatory disease which causes damage to the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The resulting disruption to the nervous systems’ ability to communicate is devastating as it includes physical, mental, and even psychiatric challenges.

MS is an unpredictable disease that can take more than one form. New symptoms can occur in isolated attacks. Symptoms can slowly build up over time. Between attacks, symptoms can disappear completely. However, as the disease progresses, permanent neurological problems often occur.

While there is no consensus on the diseases’ underlying cause, it is thought that genetics and environmental factors such as infections can both play a role. Regardless of the cause, the prognosis is disheartening. There is no known cure for MS.

There are medications to treat MS that mitigate the symptoms, but they have been known to have adverse effects on some patients. This reaction to traditional medicine leads many MS sufferers to seek out alternative treatments.

Jay Mendez sought out Mitch Ross and his deer antler supplements. Mendez was searching for a way to manage his MS symptoms. He had been told by medical professionals that he should get used to life in a wheelchair. He was told he would never fight again.

During their initial meeting, Ross was able to witness first hand Jay Mendez’s physical limitations. He was required to use crutches or a cane. He was able to stand unsteadily, for a short period of time. Since that first meeting, Mendez followed the Mitch Ross Protocol for 9 months and is now preparing to fight again.

DailyGlobe.com notes that Mendez shared his experience during a recent online chat with Ross.

“The Protocol is working. I came from a wheelchair to walking with no crutch, no cane. I’m bench pressing 320lbs and lifting about 4 plates on the incline press. I’ve been training, sparring and showing a lot of improvement. I give all credit to God and the protocol you put me on,” Jay Mendez shared in his emotional chat.

“Jay Mendez’s MS diagnosis put him in a wheelchair. One year later, after following the Mitch Ross Protocol, Mendez is out of his wheelchair and back in the cage fighting in the spring of 2014. He was the first person in sports history to come from a wheelchair back to the ring. He had a severe injury and made it back through protocol,” Ross said.

Jay Mendez’s story is both one of remarkable recovery and a determination to return to the ring. But, the Protocol is designed for anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle; even if that activity is limited to just wanting to enjoy the most that life has to offer.

Deer velvet covers the growing bone and cartilage that develops into deer antlers. People use deer velvet as medicine for a wide range of health problems.

Deer velvet supports the boost of strength and endurance, the way the immune system works, helps counter the effects of stress, and helps promote rapid recovery from illness. It is also used at the onset of winter to ward off infections.

For serious fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes or bodybuilders, deer velvet supplements can help achieve personal goals. Your goals may be performing to your optimum ability naturally, returning to pre-injury fitness levels, getting into or simply staying in shape.

Whether a professional or an armchair athlete, Mitch Ross believes that more people will accept alternatives to steroids as a way to boost physical and athletic performance.
