Jay Leno called NBC execs snakes in his most recent dig. Leno's "snakes" comment comes on the heels of rumors that his time on "The Tonight Show" is coming to an end. On March 18, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Jay's comments, pointing out that Leno has kept the punches coming despite his rumored departure. Jay took aim at NBC executives last night and his comments were far from nice.
"You know the whole legend of St. Patrick, right? St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland -- and then they came to the United States and became NBC executives. It's a fascinating story," Leno joked during Monday night's monologue.
Jay Leno's snakes comment is making headline news today mainly because of this build up of "will he stay, will he go" chatter. As previously reported, Jay has been on thin ice since his last batch of NBC insults involving ratings. He has upset entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt more than once but it sounds like Leno isn't watching his tongue at all.
Some people think that Leno is letting it rip because he knows that this is his last season on the show -- so basically he doesn't care. Others feel as though Jay is pushing boundaries because he knows he isn't going any where. How do you see it?
Jay Leno snakes in comments about NBC whenever he can. Do you think he will be canned? Jimmy Fallon's name has popped up as a possible replacement.
