In this video, Jay Leno jokes about Bishop Eddie Long during his monologue on Friday, September 24, 2010.
Never did I think I'd hear the day that Bishop Eddie Long's name was in Jay Leno's monologue.
But up late last, channel surfing and looking for anyone talking about Bishop Eddie Long, I watched the beginning of Jay Leno, wondering if he would mention the mess.
"I love this story," Jay Leno began. "In Atlanta a man named Eddie Long who has campaigned against same-sex marriage...has been accused of having sex with three young men."
Some in Leno's crowd groaned and booed.
"First of all, aren't you suspicious of any pastor named Eddie? And haven't there been at least three porn stars with the name Eddie?" Jay joked, with this portion being shown at the end of the video.
Now, on to search and see if David Letterman mentioned Bishop Long -- by the time I caught Dave his monologue was over, and Shia Lebouf was being interviewed.
It's sad to see that this is how Bishop Eddie Long's name is making it into the mainstream press. This morning I thought that even though this heinous scandal is exposing horrible hypocrisy, it doesn't negate the Word of God that he spoke, and the way so many who had no idea of any abuse going on were drawn to his preaching.
