At the Singapore premiere of ‘The Green Hornet’ the crowd screamed when Jay Chou hit the green carpet. Honoring the evening of the comic book hero, the red carpet was ditched for the premiere of one of the hottest movies in Asia. Interestingly at this premiere, Seth Rogen was taking a back seat for star cognition.
Jay Chou is one of the hottest celebrities in Asia. Known to have to hide from the paparazzi, the man talked about his love for America as he was so free. Hearing the shrilling screams from the girls at today’s premiere gave everyone the exact understanding out what he was talking about. People in America didn't know him before his role in the latest film.
At the premiere when Jay Chou walks up the carpet (check the video) the crowd goes insane. Comparable to Robert Pattinson in America, it is deafening. Then Seth Rogen walks up to a little bit higher than polite clapping for the movie star. Obviously a distinct difference that was the exact opposite of the premiere in the United States.
Since the two celebrities weren’t competing and both recognize it is all about ‘The Green Hornet’ the only thing to point out is how well received this movie will be in Asia. With the combined total of worldwide box office sales, don’t be surprised if it hit the number one spot when year end totals of 2011 are revealed.
