This Jason Wu for Target clothing collection on Target.com is causing women to go ga-ga for the newly launched line on Sunday, February 5, 2012. But are the women waiting in long lines with their café au lait drinks since 7 a.m. – as has been reported by various news outlets – buying all that Wu for Target booty for themselves – or are they amongst the thousands of people uploading their wares to eBay.com every single minute?
If this lone reporter’s sales data is any indication, the Jason Wu line at our beloved “Tar-ghay” stores and Target.com will continue to be a smashing success. With $2,646.68 in sales thus far through this journalist’s affiliate links alone, Wu’s clothing line in my solo experience has proved outstanding with a 37.5% conversion rate, which is extraordinarily high in the online world of Internet marketing and shopping.
That means, on average, that for every 10 people that click through and check out the Jason Wu apparel line on Target.com -- nearly 4 out of those 10 are actually buying the clothing, or purses, or whatever else finds their fancy on the website, with an average order value of $147.04 per transaction.
And we'll see what eBay.com's sales numbers on the Jason Wu clothing line turn about to be when more of that data is reported. But just from the rate at which people are uploading their Wu clothes and blouses and scarfs for sale are a great indication of how brisk those sales will be as well: Late last night -- Super Bowl Sunday's Eve -- I checked and saw that only 28 items were tagged "Jason Wu for Target" on eBay.
This morning, that number had ballooned to more than 1,200 items tagged similarly -- and when I just gave another look-see around 5:20 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 5, 2012 -- I couldn't help but say "Wow!" loud enough to get my husband's attention when I saw that nearly 8,000 Wu items from the Target collection had been uploaded.
By the time I finish typing this Examiner.com article, running a quick spelling and grammar check and pressing the publish button, I'm sure that number will swell to nearly 10,000 -- if the pace at which these items uploaded to eBay.com continue at this fevered pitch. Here's hoping and praying that those referral sales numbers of the Jason Wu Target line continue to mushroom well into the thousands and millions as well.
Watch out for the fakes!
