Jason Wu makes history by designing a second inaugural gown for Michelle Obama (Photos)

I have recently been singing the praises of American designer Jason Wu and featured his newest line called Miss Wu, a more attainable line of clothing, that is exclusively available at Nordstrom.

So imagine my delight when First Lady Michelle Obama wore a Jason Wu gown for the second time at the Inaugural Ball this evening to make a mark on fashion history.

The ruby colored velvet and chiffon gown was styled in a Grecian style that flattered Michelle Obama's figure as much as her well-defined arms that have become her trademark.

Accessories consisted of Jimmy Choo shoes and a handmade diamond embellished ring by jewelry designer Kimberly McDonald.

Michelle Obama's dress and accessories will immediately be placed in the First Ladies exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, next to the first Jason Wu one-shouldered white silk chiffon gown embellished with organza flowers with Swarovski crystal centers designed for the first inauguration.

Fashionistas now have a special pilgrimage to make in Washington, DC in order see fashion history at the the First Ladies exhibit.
