After teaming up with Jennifer Lopez in “Parker,” Jason Statham will be working with another beauty in Simon West’s new film. On Friday, March 8, Variety announced that West has paired Statham with hottie Latina Sofia Vergara in “Heat.”
West’s “Heat” will be a remake of the 1986 version based on William Goldman’s book of the same name. Goldman is also set to write a script for this new modern take on his book. “Heat” follows gambler Nick Escalante in Las Vegas, where he works as security to support his gambling addiction.
While Statham is not new in the action genre, Vergara is not as familiar. Sofia Vergara gained major popularity for her role in the sitcom “Modern Family” and has had small roles in a few films such as “New Year’s Eve,” “Happy Feet Two,” and “Escape from Planet Earth.” Fans are confident that Vergara will have what it takes to turn up the “Heat.”
