Jason Mraz won Album of the Year for We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things at this year's San Diego Music Awards held on September 10 in Alpine, California. Other winners include Slightly Stoopid for Artist of the Year, Anya Marina for Song of the Year for "Move You" and The New Archaic for Best New Artist.
Jason Mraz has won several San Diego Music Awards in the past including Artist of the Year from 2002 to 2004. While Mraz wasn't able to attend the 2009 Awards show, he sent a video thank-you message instead.
The awards which are voted on by the public were criticized this year for favoring well-established artists instead of the up-and-coming local acts that make San Diego a thriving music community.
