Latino Review has scored another huge scoop today, and this time it pertains to a certain big budget Marvel adaptation.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” has begun production in England, but a lot of the cast had yet to be filled.
Now it looks like Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) is up for the role of Drax the Destroyer, a character that began life as a human before his family was attacked and killed by the uber-villain Thanos, after which his spirit was placed in a new, much more powerful body.
Momoa reportedly flew out to England to audition the other day, and director James Gunn (“Super”) and the producers were so floored by his performance that they offered him the role then.
There is no doubt that Momoa is an intimidating guy, and he can bring a lot to physical roles, but he also isn’t the best actor.
Hopefully his speaking lines will be limited, and he will be relegated to just kicking a lot of ass.
