The cast of characters being added to Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice's roster seems to be getting bigger by the day. With stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck already down to be the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight respectively, the movie was already going to be a huge blockbuster. Then Gal Gadot signed on to play Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg joined as the villain, Lex Luthor and Ray Fisher came on board to play Cyborg. Soon, this seemed like an early look at what the Justice League team would look like. However, today there may be another addition to the team.
Hitfix reports that Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan) is joining the picture as Arthur Curry, otherwise known by his alter ego Aquaman.
In the report, Hitfix claims that Curry will be present as a minor role in the film, and he might even be on a bit of the antagonistic side, as he will reportedly be not too happy with what General Zod's World Engine did to the Indian Ocean in the first movie.
It is not necessarily a surprise that Momoa has some kind of involvement, as he's been attached as in talks since January according to some reports with rumors speculating that he was going to be either Doomsday as part of a preview of the "Big Bad" for the Justice League (similar to what Marvel did for Thanos at the end of The Avengers) or even Martian Manhunter. The delay may have been caused by Momoa having to negotiate a multi-picture deal, however that is just conjecture at this point.
Either way, it's an exciting development for the film and potential franchise. Aquaman was not part of the ambitious but unconfirmed schedule DC reportedly has in mind, but maybe that doesn't matter.
Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice opens May 6th, 2016.
