Tom Cruise had no way of knowing this, of course, but when Tom acted in the scene where he makes a slow motion entrance on a motorcycle in the movie “Days of Thunder” he launched the rocket Jason Lockhart, a man who may well be the next super star and film mogul at or above the Cruise level. From that defining moment the young Ohio boy Jason Lockhart got straight to work. He began acting on stage in local theatre and immersed himself in literature. That led to Jason’s next inspiration when he read the Sylvestor Stalone biography and discovered one man’s passion for his craft through the “Rocky” script.

He was now focused and would never turn back. His next stop was the acting program at Wright State University where Jason Lockhart studied for three years . He  then moved on  to Las Vegas where he  earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Nevada,Las Vegas.   The next stop was obvious, so in 2008 the well trained and impassioned Jason Lockhart packed his bags and moved to Hollywood.

He arrived right in the middle of the world’s worst recession in decades. Hollywood can be a tough town anytime; the recession simply amplified the struggle. Yet even so the driven Jason Lockhart landed lead roles in two feature films and in two stage plays in his first year in town. By the second year he had also booked a big national commercial and got to work on numerous other projects. When he is not acting he is writing or directing or producing. To meet Jason Lockhart is to witness vast and focused energy incarnate coupled with wit and charm.

Jason’s most recent accomplishment was the sale of his script “Happy Birthday” to Producer Michael J. Roth (500 Days of Summer and Our Family Wedding). Oh and while doing all that he also got attached to star in a new film,  And because Jason Lockhart has know idea of what it means to sit still as all of this is going on he also is about to wrap his own short film entitled “Jillian Sometimes” a true story of a young lady who experiences trauma that leads to mental illness. Jason was also quick to point out that a new film in which he has a substantial lead role, “Vampire Boys” is due out in March of 2011.

Pretty much everyone who lives in the greater Los Angeles area of California most often known to the world as “Hollywood” knows of one or more people in “the industry.” We who live here also know that it can be and frequently is a very tough business filled with rejection and disappointment. My driving purpose in presenting this little short biography of Jason Lockhart to demonstrate for all who are reaching for the stars that success can and does happen. Jason’s formula for success involves using passion to drive the work while paying no attention to the ever present swarm of nay sayers. Let me rephrase that. You take inexhaustible energy and give it focus and success results. Flexibility is yet another highly beneficial asset. Volumes have been written about how to obtain success, but right here are the major elements.

Yet there is one more element in the person of Jason Lockhart that reveals to me a man bound for the pinnacle of stardom. When we were discussing his many projects Jason said, and I paraphrase, “In everything I do I am building a team for the future.” With his wit, energy and passion and with that critical understanding of life I have no doubt but that Jason Lockhart will soon become a bright and shinning star of gigantic magnitude. “Hey welcome to L.A. kid! Break a leg.”
