Jason Hawes' wife, Kristen, battling brain infection

Jason Hawes, lead investigator on SyFy’s “Ghost Hunters”, informed fans today on via a post on Facebook that his wife, Kristen Hawes, is currently in the ICU battling an infection in her brain. She is currently sedated and on a ventilator. Kristen is expected to remain in the hospital until at least through the Christmas season, says Hawes.

Jason explained that Kristen is his wife, his love and his rock and thanks friends and fans in advance for their love, support and understanding during this very difficult time for his family.

Within hours nearly 26,000 friends and fans have expressed their concerns and sent positive thoughts and prayers to the entire Hawes’ family via Facebook.

Jason and Kristen (Cornell) have five children, three girls, Samantha, Haily and Satori, and twin boys Austin and Logan. Haily has appeared on "Ghost Hunters" with her father on several occasions. Samantha will make her debut on the show in January.
