September 25, 2013: Burbank, CA:
Jason Derulo releases his Tattoos EP today via digital retailers in the US. Tattoos includes his fourth Top 5 single "The Other Side," the international jam "Talk Dirty" featuring 2 Chainz, his official second single "Marry Me," title-track "Tattoo," and the sultry duet "Vertigo" featuring girlfriend Jordin Sparks. Ammo, Ricky Reed, Jonas Jeberg, DJ Frank E and Today, and Jared Lee round out the list of producers for the five-song EP.
Derulo explains that the title is inspired by "life altering experiences that are like tattoos stuck to you for life. They're all part of the art that make you who you are."
Tattoos is led by Jason's fourth Top 5 hit at mainstream radio "The Other Side," reaching over 1.25 billion in cumulative audience across all formats and becoming the #1 most added record in the format this year. The Miami-native is officially in the throes of promoting his second domestic single "Marry Me" which was the #1 most added record after its On Air with Ryan Seacrest debut at the end of August. Following its performance debut last weekend at iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, the official video starring girlfriend Jordin Sparks premiered yesterday via Entertainment Tonight's online property ETOnline.com and will see its first, nationally-televised performance later today on ABC's LIVE Kelly and Michael.
While "Marry Me" continues to fly up the American pop charts, his international single continues to make headlines across the waters. This week "Talk Dirty" dethrones Katy Perry's "Roar" in the UK charts, becoming the third official and fastest selling single in the territory. The song is a #1 hit on iTunes in the UK, Germany, New Zealand, and Belgium; has gone double platinum in Australia after landing the #1 spots on the Shazam, Aria and Spotify streaming charts; and is a Top 10 single on one of the biggest pop stations in Holland.
Derulo will close out his album's street week tonight with a Fuse-hosted 30-minute special performance to take place live and commercial free inside their Madison Square Garden studio at 8:30 p.m. ET. Fans can catch Fuse Live: Jason Derulo Presented by Trident Layers on Fuse's linear network, watching the live stream on Fuse.tv, or visiting the Trident Twitter page @TridentGum.
