Heat Vision learned yesterday that while Rupert Wyatt (upcoming “Equalizer”) has dropped out of being the director of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” and Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield”) replaced him, casting has now begun.
Jason Clarke (“Zero Dark Thirty”) has signed on to star as one of the leads in the film that focuses on both a group of human scientists struggling to survive in San Francisco and on Caesar maintaining control over his new kingdom.
The film is said to take place 15 years after the first film, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” but James Franco will not reprise his role.
Not much is known about the character Clarke will be playing, but he has really been proving himself quite the actor lately, and he deserves a leading role in a few big budget films to prove his worth.
