American Idol alum and dreadlocked crooner Jason Castro has released his debut EP titled “Love Uncompromised.” Although the single “Let’s Just Fall in Love Again” has yet to make it to radio turntables, Castro is determined to become a respected and beloved musician. (He’s currently touring with fellow musicians Matt Hires and Caitlin Crosby.)
Castro was misconstrued on the FOX hit as being flippant and rude. Quite frankly, Jason Castro is an artist that can easily come off as disrespectful. In reality though, he just doesn’t want to put up with the Hollywood nonsense that plagues talented artists from making music with actual substance.
Carefully written love songs are Castro’s specialty. The emotion he conveys through his voice is genuine and has the ability to connect the audience to the proper matching emotion. Castro makes his way back to the west coast in February. On the 17th he’ll be playing at Hotel Café in Los Angeles and he’ll make his way back down to San Diego to rock The Casbah on February 19th. Can’t make it those nights or just not old enough to get in? (Both venues require guests to be 21 years or older.) Go to iTunes, download those five glorious songs, get the fireplace roaring, and snuggle up to someone you love. It’s not where you are, it’s what you’re listening to.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Let Jason Castro’s music tell that someone all those things you just can’t find the words to say. Buy them some “Sweet Medicine.”
