Jason Bateman's 'Bad Words' looks pretty funny

For many actors, progressing from working in front of the camera to behind it is quite natural. If they paid enough attention to the directors they worked with over the years, they should pick enough up from them to do their job and who better can understand working with actors than another actor? The latest actor to make this transition is Jason Bateman who makes his directorial debut with the new comedy, "Bad Words".

You can see the trailer to "Bad Words" by clicking the video above. The concept of the movie is pretty funny and the trailer is funny as well. A grownup (Bateman) is participating in the National Spelling against children. How can he be doing this? According to spelling bee rules, anyone who has not passed the 8th grade can compete, and Bateman's character never did.

Along the way Bateman's character meets up with a young Indian child (Rohan Chand), so it looks like the movie will have some heart to it too. Anyone want to bet the two meet up against one another in the finals? We'll find out on March 28 when "Bad Words" opens in theaters everywhere.
