Loyal reader, if you've ever read my words here, you know that I see it as my duty to let you know about shows that are both cool and unusual. That being said, I have to ask you how often do you get to see a mind-blowing ukulele player? Well, Jason Arimoto is just that. You need look no further than the video of him playing "Little Wing" on a ukulele. Yes, you read that correctly. He masterfully covers Jimi Hendrix (reverb and all) on just four strings.

But wait! There's more! While Jason Arimoto would be more than enough reason to head to Don the Beachcomber, The Tikiyaki Orchestra is another great reason to visit this classic venue Saturday night. This is a band that combines surf music with lounge-exotica into a melange that was made for sipping Mai Tais on a beach lit up by tiki torches. It's fitting then that this band is playing not only in a beach town, but a place that is no stranger to tiki torches or rum drinks.

Jason Arimoto and The Tikiyaki Orchestra both play Don the Beachcomber (16278 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach) on Saturday 6 September.
