According to LA Times, a tour bus carrying country singer Jason Aldean and company hit and killed a pedestrian in the wee hours Monday in Indiana.
Police said the “Don’t You Want to Stay” singer, another passenger and the driver were traveling on the bus when it slammed into 49-year-old Albert Kennedy at approximately 1:30 a.m. near the town of Vincennes, Indiana’s RTV6 News reported.
A sheriff who talked to TMZ said Kennedy was often seen walking around town but had no explanation for why he went into traffic. The bus driver was not at fault, the website said.
An investigation into the accident and death are underway.
Aldean was in the news earlier this year for filing for divorce from his wife Jessica Ussery six months after photos surfaced of Aldean kissing “American Idol” star Brittany Kerr.
Aldean wrote via his WhoSay account on Monday:
"With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same."
