Jason Aldean sets new attendance records in 2012, releases 'Fly Over States'

For most artists, selling out arena shows is big news. But for country-rocker Jason Aldean, it's becoming a bit commonplace.

The Grammy nominee kicked off the leg of his 2012 My Kinda Party Tour, with Luke Bryan and newcomer Lauren Alaina in tow, and promptly encountered a three-date string of sold-out shows this past weekend; namely, in Greenville, S.C., Fayetteville, N.C., and in Orlando.

Adding to the feat, the award-winning Aldean managed to set new attendance records at each of the respective venues. Thus, expect the Georgia native, like last year, to sell another million tickets on this leg of his tour, just as he did in 2011.

"I'm not gonna lie," Aldean said via a Jan. 23 media advisory, "it's a big challenge to try and entertain people who are on all sides of you. I have to work a lot harder, and I come off the stage absolutely drenched. The opening weekend was unbelievable, and I had a blast pulling Luke and Lauren up on stage during different parts of the show.

"It's fun to keep the fans guessing and surprised," he added. "Sometimes, I even get surprised. ... We had a few stage jumpers, so that kept it interesting for all of us!  The fans were out of their minds this weekend!"

Bolstering the momentum created by his big live-show numbers this week is the fact that Aldean's releasing a new single, “Fly Over States,” to country radio this week. The cut is the fifth single from his double-platinum My Kinda Party CD and a tribute to the spirit and beauty of America's hard-working Heartland.
