Country superstar Jason Aldean earns his sixth consecutive No. 1 song, and the tenth of his career, as "Take a Little Ride" moves into the top spot on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts in just 10 weeks since it first debuted. The track is the lead single from his upcoming CD release, "Night Train," due out on Oct. 16. The song becomes the fastest moving song to top the charts this year.
“It's awesome to see new music getting a reaction on radio and live at our shows'” said Aldean in a press release. “It's always dicey adding new songs to your set before an album is out, and you never know how long it's going to take a single to catch fire. This one went quick…the crowd is screaming for it even before we kick into the opening riff. It's a good reminder of how important country radio has been, and continues to be, to my career. We have so many great songs on the new record, and I hope we get to release a lot of 'em!"
Media and fans alike are anxiously awaiting, "Night Train," which is the follow-up to his 2x Platinum disc "My Kinda Party." "My Kinda Party" spawned five consecutive No. 1 hits, and is the current CMA Album of the Year winner.
The Country Music Association awards are coming up on Nov. 1, and Aldean has three nominations this year, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Single of the Year for "Dirt Road Anthem." Catch the CMA Awards on Thursday, Nov. 1, on ABC TV, starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT.
