Country music's Jason Aldean is celebrating his fourth consecutive week at the No. 1 chart position on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts this week, with his laid-back country love song, "Big Green Tractor."
As fate would have it, the Georgia native's the first artist in 18 months to latch onto the No. 1 spot and hold it for a solid month, since 2009 CMA Awards nominee Brad Paisley did the same in February 2008 with his "Letter to Me" hit.
"This is crazy," Aldean says of his latest career victory. "The guys I've always looked up to ... my heroes ... are the ones who are supposed to be sitting up there at the top (of the charts)."
Aldean's "Big Green Tractor," which is certified gold in the sales department in regard to digital downloads, also made country music history this week by helping the singer become the first country artist to ever take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard all-genre Ringscan chart.
To do so, "Big Green Tractor" edged out the rest of the top-five contenders, including Jay Z, Drake, Mariah Carey and The Black Eyed Peas.
"Man, I feel like I'm constantly thanking country radio and the fans, but they truly are a huge part of the reason I'm having such a great year," says Aldean, referring to the second single from his Wide Open CD. " It motivates me to go out and work harder than I ever have before. The fans and all their energy and support are fueling everything I'm doing right now ... (and) it feels incredible!"
