Las Vegas’s celebrity restaurant scene has certainly made its mark on Sunday brunch, but beyond the big names lies an iconic dining experience that every serious foodie should make a point to indulge in. Jasmine, known for its intensely authentic Cantonese cuisine, is no stranger to the spotlight with its location right along the Bellagio fountains. And as a part of the Bellagio’s ‘Epicurean Epicenter,’ Jasmine hosts a weekly all-you-can-eat ‘Fountains Brunch’ that fuses Cantonese delicacies with American classics. Exotic variety, spectacular quality ingredients and legendary ambiance makes this under-the-radar spot one of the top brunch outings in the city.
This bottomless experience holds no semblance to the rep associated with your typical buffet. Four stations, elegantly laid out, present lavish food in stylish fashion, combining the best of both quality and quantity. The cold bar delivers signatures such as lobster profiteroles [French pastry] with citrus cream, duck terrine and foie gras on brioche and rhubarb compote, and grapefruit-mint panna cotta with Sriracha caviar. Among the biggest standouts, however, were portions of beef tartare and seasoned shellfish with fresh greens wrapped in what can only be described as miniature savory ice cream cones.
Hot dishes include Wu-Xu style spare ribs, lobster and potato cake benedict, chicken apple sausage and traditional dim sum, such as steamed pork buns and shrimp dumplings. Omelets are made with organic brown eggs cracked in front of you, mixed in with top-notch additions. The carving station features dry-aged prime rib, porchetta and honey-glazed slab bacon. An extensive soup station allows you to pick your own noodles and ingredients, as well as from a variety of pre-made signatures such as hot and sour crab with crisp-fried bao.
Twists on breakfast classics come with red velvet waffles, banana-Nutella stuffed French toast and pastries served tableside. And of course the shellfish selection highlights top catches, including split Alaskan king crab, fresh-shucked oysters on the half shell, poached shrimp and smoked salmon.
Dessert is an event in itself. White and dark chocolate-dipped strawberries, French pastries, bon bons and an artistic truffle display pave the way for a multi-level chocolate fountain, where guests can dip fresh-made blondies, rice crispy treats and anything else their heart desires. Creamy gelato and mocchi round out this ultimate sweet temptation.
Bottomless champagne service and a full cocktail menu is available as well. Guests are encouraged to sit back and take in the moment amidst Jasmine’s elegant layout, where oriental décor meets old-style American fashion with a priceless view of the Bellagio fountains. Word is bound to get out about this landmark experience, truly on par with some of the most legendary weekend brunches in Las Vegas, at a far cheaper price [especially compared to an a la carte meal].
Jasmine’s Fountains Brunch is open Sundays from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. $58/person, $25 for kids 6-12 and free for kids under 6. For more information or reservations call (866) 259-7111 or visit Jasmine online.
