The Japanese film Castle Under Fiery Skies (Katen no shiro) will be shown at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington)  on September 1st and 4th in the Claudia Cassidy Theater.  The film is in Japanese with English subtitles.

Gorgeously shot and magnificently conceived, Castle Under Fiery Skies, a historical period drama directed by Mitsutoshi Tanaka and released in 2009,  transports its audience to 1576 Japan for a story about the construction of Azuchi Castle on the shores of Lake Biwa.

A post-screening discussion will follow the film on Wednesday, September 1st.

Admission is free.
