Sunday, Japan won the Little League World Series (LLWS) against Hawaii; Japan kept the score low with good defense and a 4-1 score. For most of the game, Japan led 2-1 and then pulled out the two extra runs in the 5th inning.
With a crowd of almost 30,000 watching, the Little League World Series ended today with the world championship game in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The coaches for both team were supportive of the players and encouraged them whether they were ahead or behind.
Saturday, in a complete shut-out Hawaii beat Texas 10-0 in the US Championship game at the LLWS; the game ended in the fifth inning with the 10-run rule. For more on that game, click here.
Saturday, Japan beat Chinese Taipei in the International Championship game in the LLWS 3-2; Japan came from behind to pull out the win in an extra 7th inning. For more on that game, click here.
Chinese Taipei was the underdog last year’s LLWS and beat Mexico for the title of International Champions. For more on that story, click here.
Friday, Hawaii pulled out a spot in the final four at the 2010 Little League World Series (LLWS) by beating Georgia, 12-5. Thursday, Pearland, Texas beat and eliminated Auburn, Washington in the LLWS.
There are 8,000 players in Little League teams in 80 countries. The LLWS started with eight international and eight US teams.
