The January Jamboree 2013 is this Saturday at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. It is an annual double open/double youth rabbit and cavy show featuring specialty shows for Angora, American, Holland Lop, Jersey Wooly, Mini Lop, New Zealand, and Satin/Mini Satin.
The January Jamboree is not only a full-blown ARBA sanctioned show with 19 judges, it is also a great opportunity for young rabbit enthusiasts to shine with multiple youth activities sponsored by the Sonoma Marin Rabbit Association.
Youth can register the day of the show from 8 – 9:00 a.m. for rabbit or cavy showmanship (cost -- $5.00), breed identification (cost -- $2.00), and/or a scavenger hunt.
A raffle is being held by the Steuben 4-H club of Sonoma County, so bring your donation items! The winners will be called following Best in Show A.
The Sequoia 4-H Club of Sonoma County is serving lunch and snack items at reasonable prices, so it is affordable to bring your family and make a day of it. Just looking at all those breeds in one place is amazing.
It is also a great place to learn about showing rabbits as a hobby and about rabbits in general.
Parking for exhibitors is free in the “Redwood Lot” on Brookwood Avenue (Gate 4) for entry between 7-9:00 a.m.
