Having had a sick husband, and also being sick myself this week, my cupboard and fridge are filled with food items, you can eat when you don't want to.
Eggs are nutritious, and when you don't feel like eating, a lightly scrambled egg on bread or toast, is something that will stay down. I will cut it up into 1 inch squares and take a spoonful every so often, with a sip of water.
When I make oatmeal, often I make extra, and put it in the fridge. I was so pleased that I had done this earlier in the week. I had a reaction to caffeine, and could barely stand, had a bowl in front of me, while I sat on the toilet. I knew that I had to eat and drink something to absorb the caffeine.
I got the oatmeal out of the fridge, didn't even bother to heat it as I was bent over, and ate a teaspoonful at a time, over several hours. My stomach could hold it down, and I know that it helped me get better.
There are many other foods that do the same thing, like graham crackers, and water.
You never know when you will get sick, or have a situation when you can't get to the store, so it is always handy to stock up on easy to make, easy to eat food items.
I am fully recovered, and pleased to say that I can now leave Len, and food shop whenever I need to.
