Ghosts on the Boardwalk: 1/12

Leaders and revolutionaries in the New Jersey punk band scene Bouncing Souls have released their ninth studio album.  Bouncing Souls has been active since 1987, hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, and were integral in the "pogo" punk sound (a light hearted bouncy and melodic punk style) that has become a model for New Jersey punk bands to follow.  "Ghosts on the Boardwalk", Bouncing Souls latest record was released on January 12, 2010.

Of The Blue Colour of the Sky: 1/12

Chicago native band OK Go has also released their new record "Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky", on January 12, 2010.  The new record is the third full length studio album for the four-piece band.  OK Go rose in popularity a few years ago when two extremely viral music videos were released that had been filmed by the band themselves and uploaded to popular video sharing site, YouTube.  The first video was the band dancing along to their song "A Million Ways". In 2006 an even more viral video was created for their hit single "Here It Goes Again" which featured a elaborate dance on treadmills.

Behave Yourself: 1/19

Cold War Kids, an American indie band from Long Beach, California is gearing up to release their ninth EP.  The band is working with producer Jacquire King who has previously worked with Modest Mouse, Norah Jones and Kings of Leon.  Nathan Willett, speaking to Filter Magazine on working with King: "...he is going to work miracles with us. All of our music has always been written entirely by us without any influence, so to have him step in and help us with the direction is tremendous."  Cold War Kid's EP "Behave Yourself" will be released on January 19, 2010.

My Dinosaur Life: 1/19

American rock band Motion City Soundtrack, a staple of radio rock since the band's first studio record "I Am the Movie" in 2003, is releasing their fourth full length studio album on January 19, 2010.  "My Dinosaur Life" will the band's first release on a major label (Columbia Records) after their switch from Epitaph in 2008.  Once again the band has teamed up with Blink 182 frontman Mark Hoppus who also produced the band's second album.

Veracity: 1/26

On a less mainstream note, hardcore/experimental band Evacuate Chicago has a new release in the works as well.  "Verasity" is the first official release for the Chicago native band.  Evacuate Chicago is the sideproject band of three members of Psychostick, a satirical metal band.  Evacuate Chicago was created as an outlet for a more serious musical persona that didn't fit in well with Psychostick's humorcore sound.  "Verasity" is set to be released on January 26, 2010
