January 29th forecast for Western New York

Unseasonably mild air on southerly breezes will continue through the next 24hrs ahead of a cold front to our west. We'll see readings that will average nearly 20 degrees above normal with overnight lows tonight rising into the lower 50's. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be out ahead of the cold front that will pass through the region later Wednesday afternoon. We'll see much colder air rush in behind the front with any liquid precipitation changing over to snow later Wednesday night. Much colder air will follow and settle in over all of Western New York and Southern Ontario by the end of the week with areas of lake effect snow.

Today: Cloudy and breezy with showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Mild with readings into the mid-40's. South breeze 9-14mph. Tonight, cloudy with areas of fog and scattered showers. Breezy with temperatures rising to the low 50's overnight. South winds near 20mph. Wednesday will feature cloudy skies with showers likely. Breezy and unseasonably mild with highs in the upper 50's.
