January 29: Launchpad succumbs to Toxic Holocaust and guests

On January 29, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad welcomes Toxic Holocaust, Exhumed, Mammoth Grinder, and Ramming Speed. Doors for this all-ages show are scheduled to open at 7 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Entry is $15 but is subject to change at the door.

Hailing from Oregon, Toxic Holocaust play thrash metal influenced by the punk rock and heavy metal bands of the 1980s, such as Slayer, Black Flag, and Death. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Chemistry of Consciousness.

Formed in 1990, California’s Exhumed play a combination of brutal death metal and grindcore. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Necrocracy.

Texas’ Mammoth Grinder play a mix of heavy metal and punk rock.

Formed in 2007, Boston’s Ramming Speed play a mix of thrash metal, grind, and punk. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Doomed to Destroy, Destined to Die.

Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
