On January 29, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad presents Nashville Pussy, Anesthesia, Cowboys & Indian, and Beard. Doors for this 21+ show are scheduled to open at 8 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 9:30 p.m. Entry is only $10 but is subject to change at the door.
Hailing from Georgia, Nashville Pussy play a combination of Southern metal, boogie rock, and psychobilly. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled From Hell to Texas.
According to the band, Anesthesia have woken up pretty much every day for the past 13 years with one goal in mind: To become the next Metallica. These dudes love to play integrated technical passages but then can turn around on a dime and smash your teeth down your throat. The band’s second album, a self-titled one, has been released through Suburban Noize Records.
Albuquerque’s Cowboys & Indian play rockabilly. The band melds various styles, including country, swing, blues, jazz, and rock into an entirely new sound.
Albuquerque’s Beard play a combination of doom and power metal—what they call space punk. As the band says: “Beard is bullsh#t. . . . Crank it!” The band’s debut CD it titled Black Unicorn.
Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
