It’s “Metal Thursdays” at Albuquerque’s Hooligans! On January 26, prepare yourself for Seduced by the Sixes, Left to Rot, Burst into Flames, and Punishment Overdue. This 21+ event takes place from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am, with doors opening at 8:00 pm. Entry is only $4 at the door, with ladies getting in for free!
Hailing from Rio Rancho, Seduced by the Sixes play a combination of stoner-driven metal and Southern-flavored rock. The band’s interests include the following: “pushing down old people and hitting terrorists with rocks.”
Formed in 2004, Left to Rot hail from Laguna, New Mexico. These dudes are known for their dense guitar rhythms, blast beats, and harsh vocals. The band’s debut EP is titled Bathe in Blood, which they followed up with the full-length Crown of Deception.
Hailing from Edgewood, New Mexico, Burst into Flames play what they call “epic metal,” a combination of hardcore, death metal, thrash, and a kick in the butt. As the band says on their Facebook page: “Feed the fire!”
From out of Los Lunas, New Mexico, come Punishment Overdue, which play progressive thrash metal (speed metal). The band has completed its debut self-titled album, which should be available in the near future.
One of Albuquerque’s coolest music venues, Hooligans has it all, from full-liquor service (40 brands of beer on tap) to a wicked stage with an 8,000-watt PA. The venue covers a variety of music, with Thursdays reserved for the metalheads! Hooligans is located at 9800 Montgomery NE. Get specifics by calling 505-296-1023.
